Turn your bathroom into a Star Trek transporter room, without the messy dematerialisation business
If you don't fancy turning part of your home into a homage to Star Wars using the Death Star tiles Pocket-lint told you about a couple of days ago, how about Star Trek instead? Thanks to ThinkGeek in the US, you can have your own Star Trek transporter station in the bathroom.
Well, you can have a mat and a shower curtain to make it look like the transporter room from classic Star Trek anyway, which is good enough for us.
ThinkGeek is selling the Star Trek Transporter Room Bath Mat & Shower Curtain Set for $49.99 (around £30). Postage and packaging will be extra, with international shipping available but can be pricey. For example, to have it sent through DHL, which is the cheapest option, it will cost an estimated $35.54. Still if you must pretend you're sending an away team down to to the surface of a foreign planet, £50 is not too big a price to pay.
You'll also get to sit on the bog and say out loud phrases like, "She canna take it captain" and "It's life Jim, but not as we know it". And who can resist, " Captain's log, stardate...".
