Huawei has already launch its latest foldable smartphone in China, but will soon introduce it on a wider scale.

It has announced a global launch event for the Huawei Mate Xs 2 to take place on 18 May 2022. Here's how to watch it and what you can expect.

When is the Huawei Mate Xs 2 global launch event?

The Huawei announcement will take place on 18 May at 2pm CEST. Here are the international times:

  • Tokyo - 21:00 JST

What are we expecting? 

As the phone has already launched in China, much is already known about it.

The Huawei Mate Xs 2 has a 7.8-inch folding OLED display with a 2480 x 2200 resolution. When folderd, it offers a 6.5-inch front panel.

It supports Huawei's M-Pen 2s stylus and runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 processor. There are 8GB and 12GB RAM options in China, which we expect to make the leap elsewhere too, plus up to 512GB of storage.

There's a triple-camera system on the rear (50-, 13- and 8-megapixel) and power is provided by a 4,880mAh battery with 66W fast charging support.

There might be regional variations, so we'll update you when we know more.

Huawei has also said it's going to be launching wearables at the event, so were likely to see new Watch models as well.
