Not content with smart doorbells and cameras and its first forays into lighting, Ring is stepping up its coverage of your smart home with a new range of smart bulbs announced here at CES 2020.
Some are conventional internal bulbs, but there are solar-powered options for the garden, too. Naturally, you can create schedules for them in the Ring app and team them up with other Ring devices. Indeed, Ring is beefing up the capabilities of its app with a dedicated Control Center section to enable easier control of its burgeoning suite of devices.
The range comprises of the A19 Smart LED Bulb and PAR38 Smart LED Bulb as well as three solar models: Solar Floodlight, Solar Steplight and Solar Pathlight. The outside lights have motion sensors built-in.
Plus, if you're lucky enough to live somewhere with an electric gate, Ring also now enables you to control that as well with the $299 Ring Access Controller Pro. Naturally, you can administer it from the Ring app and team it up with a Ring camera to secure access if motion is detected.
It'll also integrate with Amazon Key if you have that in the US. The audience for this latter device is a little limited, but it points the way that smart home companies like Ring are thinking about integrating themselves with every aspect of automation within our homes.
