Did you get a gold medal in the Olympics? Shame, because if the the answer is no, then you don't get to ask for one of these incredibly limited-edition Gold Bold 9900 smartphones currently being given to those who did well at the London 2012 Games.

BlackBerry Bold 9900 review

Although not an official partnership, BlackBerry-maker RIM wanted to say well done to the boys and girls who did us proud and have been dishing out the gold smartphone to all those who have achieved great things. Among them is triathlon winner Alistair Brownlee.

While we didn't get gold (we did go to watch though) we've convinced BlackBerry to let us snap one of the exclusive phones to show you what it looks like.

The result? Classy. The phone is identical to the Bold 9900 you can already buy, however instead of silver accents, it is now gold. As you can see it's been done with a faint touch rather than just emblazoning the whole device in 24-carat gold ready for a rapper to hang around his neck.
