Xiaomi, a Chinese technology company set to launch in the UK soon, has sent out invites to a launch event in London.

The event, which takes place on 8 November, would likely serve as the company's official entry into the UK and could see the unveiling of new smartphones, such as the Mi 8 and Pocofone F1. Xiaomi could even bring out some of its smart home appliances. It recently tweeted through the Xiaomi UK channel that it is "more than phones" and has an "entire ecosystem of technology and lifestyle products".

However, we don't know which phones and appliances Xiaomi will announce, let alone prices or what types of customer service and warranty protections will be available. There's a lot to learn about the company now that it's coming to the UK. Currently, it does well in China with such devices as Poco F1 and Mi Pad 4 Plus. It's like OnePlus in that it combines high-end specs with affordable prices.

In our review of Poco F1, we said it offers a lot for little money. There's lots of power, lots of screen, lots of storage, and longevity. If Poco F1 does go on sale in the UK, we suspect OnePlus and even Honor will have to up their game.
