Vodafone 555 Blue now on sale

The Facebook-fun phone, Vodafone Blue 555, has gone on sale in the UK.
When Pocket-lint got hands on with the 555 Blue when it was announced back in July, we were promised a price of around $100 by the Vodafone bods who were on hand to show it off.
And, taking a look at that exchange rate it seems they weren't too far off, with a price of £62.50 for UK customers.
That price will get you the handset on PAYG. It's not being offered on any contracts - it's designed to be entry level, you see. With only 2.5G connectivity, it's not designed to munch away on massive amounts of data.
The Vodafone 555 Blue is fairly basic in functionality. There's a QWERTY keypad, 2.4-inch display, and 2-megapixel camera. It can also play MP3s, WMAs and AACs through built-in music software, and its 40MB of on-board can be upgraded through SD card support (up to 16GB). There's also an FM radio and Bluetooth 2.1.
With Facebook is built into its core, messages from your FB friends will appear in your inbox alongside emails. It also updates automatically in the background, so you can always keep informed of what's going on in your social networking world. There's even a dedicated Facebook button that you can customise.
Expect a full Pocket-lint review on the Vodafone 55 Blue soon. You can order yours now.
