Mobile network 3, in a remarkable move, has changed the way it charges for mobile usage while its customers are abroad, so that in certain countries they'll will pay only what they would in the UK.
3 customers using 3 networks abroad in Ireland, Italy, Austria, Australia, Hong Kong, Sweden and Denmark will be able to use their minutes and texts from their UK bundles, even when calling and receiving calls to the UK.
Using those networks, customers won't be charged to receive calls at all, and calls made to UK numbers will be used from the bundle of inclusive minutes, and then charged at a flat rate of 20p per minute.
In addition, all SMS and MMS as well as data services will be charged at the same rate as data used in the UK.
However, calls made to international numbers will also be charged at the same rate as if the call had been made from the UK.
