Fans keen to catch highlights of this years football World Cup will be able to catch up with the games via mobile operator, 3.

The 3G operator has announced that it will be offering three dedicated mobile TV channels for free to its customers.

The three channels will offer extended match highlights, ‘Today’s Best of…’ content and a specially commissioned daily magazine show.

The match highlights will be made available following every game, five minutes after the final whistle.

A new ‘match centre’ application for the 2006 FIFA World Cup will also offer minute-by-minute text commentary and in-match stats from every game.

3 has licensed non-exclusive mobile broadcast rights in the UK and Ireland for all 64 matches of the 2006 FIFA World Cup from the 9th June to 9th July.
