It looks like we'll be getting a larger mid-range phone from Sony in a couple of weeks - the XA3 Plus. Again it's a tall-and-thin version of large.
We were already expecting that Sony would reveal the Sony XA3 at Mobile World Congress, possibly alongside the flagship Xperia XZ4 but now WinFuture has obtained some marketing images of the larger model which will have a 21:9 6-5-inch display.
That's the same screen size and aspect ratio that we're expecting to be present in the new XZ4. That's half an inch larger than the XZ3 it supersedes.
The standard XA3 is also reported to have a 21:9 screen and be exactly the same as the Plus except with a smaller 5.9-inch display. Both phones will probably have a resolution of 2,560x1,080, fingerprint reader on the side and dual cameras with LED flash.
We're expecting these handsets will again use Qualcomm's Snapdragon platform, possibly the 660. The flagship XZ4, on the other hand, will use the 845 or possibly incoming 855.
Both phones will be pretty tall though, because like some Nokia handsets such as the 7 Plus, Sony sticks with its policy of eschewing a "notched" design, while there's no sign of the 2019 trend of having a punch hole or pinhole camera.
