Special Bond edition Sony Ericsson K800i to be shaken, not stirred
Sony Ericsson, in an inspired example of perfect product promotion through movie placement, is releasing a limited-edition silver version of the K800i camera phone that is featured in the new James Bond film, “Casino Royale”.
The phone, which will only be available for 3 months, is used by Daniel Craig’s James Bond in the new film, scheduled for release on 17 November. The M600i is also in on the action, but there’s no special release scheduled for it.
So how did Sony Ericsson inveigle the phone into the frame? “With both the latest Cyber-shot phone and the M600i Smartphone being used to assist the non-stop action in Casino Royale, plus a major marketing promotion to coincide with the launch of the movie, this is yet another example of collaboration between us and Sony Pictures Entertainment”, said Jan Wareby, a VP at Sony Ericsson.
The special edition of this 3.2MP cameraphone includes 007-themed content, including Bond wallpapers, ringtones, and the full video movie trailer.
