What's small, black, has a codename associated with Japanese artwork and a spec sheet that is likely to underwhelm even the most ardent fandroid?

The Sony Ericsson ST18i, that's what - a handset which also goes by the codename of the Sony Ericsson Urushi and is looking to crash the mid-level Gingerbread party when it lands in September.

The launch date was reported by GSM Arena, who also managed to nab a whole host of snaps of the Android 2.3.3 device as well as listing some pretty detailed specs.

If accurate, we're looking at a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset with the Adreno 205 GPU, 335MB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera with an LED flash and 720p video shooting, and a 854x480 Bravia Mobile powered 3.2-inch display.

It could be the Xperia branded phone for you, should your bank balance not stretch to the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc.

Nothing official yet but as always, we'll keep you posted.
