Three has announced that it will be stocking the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play - meaning UK users will have the complete network spectrum to choose from should they wish to invest in the long awaited PlayStation phone.

Sylvia Chind, Three?s head of branded devices said, "At Three we?re eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Sony Ericsson Xperia play. We believe this handset celebrates a further step change in the way in which consumers use data, merging mobile communications and entertainment.

"The Sony Ericsson Xperia play is perfect for gamers but above all, it?s a top-of-the-range smartphone which is why we are so excited to be ranging it on our award winning network."

Three didn't mention a release date, but Pocket-lint recently confirmed with Everything Everywhere (T-Mobile and Orange's UK umbrella) that the PlayStation button packing smartphone should be landing in the UK in April.

Expect to see some serious hands-on action featuring the Xperia Play in the next week or so, right here on Pocket-lint - we'll be getting up close and personal with the device in Barcelona at MWC.
