Samsung Mobile has announced the launch of three new models to its UK smartphone range; the Samsung i550, Samsung i560 and Samsung i780.

We've seen some of these models before as sneak peaks, or other territory launches, but this marks their official announcement for the UK market.

These new phones are described by the company as design-inspired ultra-smart mobile devices to provide the ultimate in advanced mobile communications and convergence, both at work and at play.

The Samsung i780 runs Windows Pocket PC, while the Samsung i550 and Samsung i560 are both based on Symbian's S60 software.

The Samsung i550:­ "For the truly mobile individual"

The Samsung i550 is aimed at those that want to have all the power of the Internet at their fingertips, described as a "true multimedia device", it has a 2.6-inch colour screen and 128MB of RAM for quick and easy task switching.

The Samsung i550 also includes additional functions for easy internet support such as s60 dedicated web browser, trackball navigation and an ultra fast HSDPA connection. A 3-megapixel camera, video recorder and S-GPS/A-GPS navigation complete the line-up.

The Samsung i550 will be available in early 2008 on O2.

The Samsung i560: "To stand out in a crowd"

Samsung says the i560 is an example of true convergence ­ where cutting-edge technology meets beautiful design.

This stylish slider offers HSDPA high speed web browsing and content management, a 2.4-inch colour screen, a 3-megapixel camera with flash, FM radio and GPS navigation on the move.

The Samsung i560 will be available in November 2007 on Vodafone.

The Samsung i780: "The ultimate business messenger"

The Samsung i780, measuring in a 12.8mm thin, is the "ultimate ultra slim smartphone designed for the on-the-go busy professional" says the blurb.

Based on Windows Pocket PC, the Samsung i780 includes ultra fast HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, a 2.55-inch full colour screen and GPS navigation.

Its PC-like qualities include an optical mouse and Google, IM and VoIP applications while other features include a 2-megapixel camera and RSS/Podcast management tool.

The Samsung i780 will be available from the end of November 2007 on Orange.
