Samsung will formally unveil its foldable phone during Samsung Unpacked in San Francisco next week.

The Samsung Galaxy Flex, as many have taken to call it, is confirmed to make at least a small appearance during the event. An official video teaser (above) effectively states as much.

While the Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10e are expected to be the main focus during the livestream press conference, as evidenced by the "10" at the end of the clip and on invites, the foldable phone will also make its debut.

The words "The Future Unfolds" and perpetual folded screen imagery leave little else to the imagination.

Samsung did demonstrate a working prototype during its developers conference at the tail end of last year, but this is likely to be the first showing of the full consumer model.

It is not known yet whether it will be just a tease or a proper declaration. However, with Samsung Unpacked occurring on 20 February, a week before Mobile World Congress is due to start, the company can get a heads-up on any competitive devices that could appear during the show in Barcelona.

It can't claim to be the first to market though. The Royole Flexpai launched during CES in January and the company has opened pre-orders for the Developer Model already. - PAY MONTHLY PHONES The Samsung Galaxy S10+ is now available on EE who have been awarded the UK’s best network for the fifth year running. RootMetrics tested the four UK networks and EE was faster and more reliable than all of them, with better data performance. Their network has come a long way since they launched in 2012. Back then they had 11 UK cities covered by 4G. Today they cover most of the UK’s land mass, thanks to 19,000 state-of-the-art 4G sites. They’ve got faster, too – from 50Mbps to a maximum speed of 400Mbps. And they’re soon to experience even greater possibilities with the launch of 5G.
