Samsung has announced its Galaxy Alpha will be available for pre-order in the UK starting next week.

As the latest edition to the company's smartphone lineup, the Galaxy Alpha features a 7mm-thick metal frame, 4.7-inch HD Super Amoled display, Samsung-specific tricks like S Health, Finger Print Scanner, and Private Mode, as well as connectivity with Samsung wearables such as Gear Fit, Gear Live, and Gear 2.

Hardware specs include Samsung's own octa-core Exynos 5433 processor, which recently beat the Snapdragon 805 on AnTuTu benchmarking, backed by 2GB of RAM, and it'll have a 12-megapixel rear camera with "super-fast autofocus" and a 2-megapixel front-facing selfies camera. There will also be 32GB of internal memory and Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box.
