One for your diaries, Galaxy fans. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be available to buy in the UK from 1 October, the manufacturer has revealed.

The handset, which incorporates a huge 5.55-inch display, can be purchased from Monday from the Samsung Brand Store in Westfield Stratford City, Carphone Warehouse, Phones 4u and all major UK networks.

“We were delighted by the hugely positive response we received when we first announced the Galaxy Note II at IFA back in August,” said Simon Stanford, vice-president of Samsung UK and Ireland.

“The Galaxy Note II is a whole new level of innovation and we are confident users are going to enjoy the updated features and design of our latest Galaxy device when it hits the shelves on 1 October.”

Running Android’s 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be available in “Marble White” and “Titanium Grey”. No word on pricing just yet.

US customers will have to wait until November for the handset to arrive, but will be rewarded with 4G capabilities.
