Two weeks on from the launch of the T-Mobile MDA Compact III smartphone, O2 has announced the launch of its version of the HTC Artemis, this time called the O2 Xda Orbit with integrated GPS.

As with T-Mobile's launch, O2 is boasting the smartphone's GPS function as the main selling point. The smartphone which looks identical to the MDA Compact III apart from a slightly different button formation also sports a 2.8-inch touchscreen, a 2.0 megapixel camera, MP3 player, radio and Wi-Fi functionality and runs Windows Mobile OS 5 software.

As with T-Mobile, O2 is bundling the device with the CoPilot Live satnav package from ALK Technologies.

O2 Xda Orbit with the optional CoPilot satnav pack is available at a range of prices depending on monthly tariff from O2.
