Nokia is to "kill" its Mosh mobile social networking site, it's being reported.

The cross platform service from Nokia lets users upload, share, collect, or download various media from their mobile phone as well as their desktop.

Launched in 2007, and still in "beta", there is no official date for Mosh to close, but it's been confirmed that when Nokia's Ovi store launches in May it will mark the end for Mosh.

The Ovi store will debut on the Nokia N97 and will offer applications and downloads for Nokia devices, as Apple's App Store does for the iPhone.

Nokia told Pocket-lint: "The Ovi Store will consolidate the best experiences for Download!, MOSH and WidSets. MOSH will be ramped down when Ovi Store is live for consumers".
