Nokia has announced plans for changes in some parts of its organisation that include hundreds of job losses.
Said to be as a follow-up to Nokia's reorganisation dating back to the beginning of 2008, Nokia plans to "de-layer" its Markets unit, changes that will "affect" approximately 450 employees.
The Nokia Research Center, that covers long-term research activities within Nokia, plans to "sharpen its focus on fewer but stronger research areas".
This planned reorganisation is estimated to have an impact on approximately 130 NRC employees globally, with a maximum of 100 in Finland.
In addition, Nokia will close its Turku site in Finland and relocate those activities to Salo, as well as some other "smaller workforce adjustments" that will affect around 35 employees, mostly in Finland.
