Motorola and Burton Snowboards have announced a partnership to bring technology to the sports outfitters clothes.
Not to be mistaken with Burtons in the UK, the sportswear manufacturer will design a number of jackets that will have a padded casing for either a mobile phone (preferable Motorola) and an MP3 music player.
Connected via Bluetooth, the jacket will feature controls on the sleeve that will allow the wearer to answer calls, skip tracks and other such commands to a set of headphones in a hood.
From next winter snowboarders and skiers will also be able to buy Bluetooth helmets and beanies that will provide wireless connectivity and playability on the slopes for the 2006 winter season.
Motorola and Burton's relationship also includes a three-year global sports marketing alliance, which includes a strong Motorola presence at Burton's world-renowned Open Snowboarding Championship Series and event tour.
