Six years after the original Droid smartphone debuted, Motorola has announced it'll once again expand the Droid series.
Motorola and Verizon Wireless have sent out press invites for a joint event in New York City. It'll take place on 27 October and will likely see the release of a second-generation Droid Turbo and a second-generation Droid Maxx.
The event invite - pictured above - specifically teases the following: "Everything you expect from a phone will change". Recent rumours indicate Motorola has been working on both the Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2. Their invite even notes they plan to unveil "the newest Droids."
Keep in mind Droids are exclusive to Verizon and therefore limited to the US. Also, around this time last year, Lenovo-owned Motorola unveiled the Droid Turbo, which featured a 5.2-inch Quad HD screen, 3900mAH battery, and a 2.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chip, among other things.
So, stay tuned to our Motorola hub to see what the new Droids might feature.
