Lenovo has officially acquired Motorola Mobility from Google.

Unlike the Nokia devices brand, which Microsoft acquired last week and announced will no longer be used on its Lumia range of Windows Phone smartphones, the Motorola brand will continue, alongside the Moto and Droid franchises for handsets.

Lenovo-owned Motorola will also continue to build Android devices and upgrade existing Motorola handsets, while maintaining an "unprecedented choice, value and quality". That's good news for those of you who have stuck by the company for the last 31 years.

Since 1983, when the Dynatac 8000x - aka the grandaddy of cellphones - burst onto the scene, Motorola has been making a wide range of mobile phones, messaging phones, clamshell phones, fashion phones, and smartphones.

Browsing through old pictures of Motorola devices, whether or not they were good products, is bound to open up a nostalgic floodgate for most people. That said, since the company is changing hands, maybe it's time to look back and see how far Motorola has come.

Pocket-lint has therefore rounded up 29 of the best and worst and most memorable Motorola devices over the last three decades.
