This is interesting. Following a recent patent application for a 3D display on a mobile phone, a handset has leaked out of China Mobile that suggests that development might be further along than originally thought.

The phone is labelled the MT810, and features an optical filter that flips down over the screen to enable the 3D viewing. That seems to suggest, however, that the touchscreen won't operate when that's flipped down - so you'll need to do normal usage with it up, and only flip it down when you want to watch something in 3D.

The phone may be one of the first of its type, but we'll no doubt be seeing more in the coming months as 3D begins its assault on consumers. It remains to be seen, however, how the general public take to the technology - initial reactions have been lukewarm. Would you love to get a 3D phone? Tell us in the comments below.
