LG is to launch a 3G version of its now iconic Chocolate phone later this year as well as launch an update to the current model Pocket-lint has learnt.
Although details are still thin on the ground, an LG spokeswomen confirmed to us that a design variation of the Chocolate phone currently available in both the UK and the US will be hitting the shops in time for Christmas.
The new model, which has yet to get a name is likely come with a gold or platinum paint job and feature 256MB of onboard memory, as well as an expandable MicroSD memory slot, something the current LG-KG800 model misses. We were also told that the phone is likely to feature a 2 megapixel camera - an upgrade to the current model's 1.3 megapixel offering.
At an invite-only press breakfast at exclusive London hotel Claridges, Pocket-lint was also told that a 3G handset is on the cards. It will be about double the thickness of the current LG-KG800 version and slightly wider.
However, LG did say that this details are yet to be confirmed and are still subject to change on both models.
We will keep you posted.
