Huawei has announced that to date it has shipped over 20 million mobile broadband units (not just dongles) to over 115 countries covering Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, North America, Middle East and Africa.

Having worked with more than 230 international operators, Huawei says its mobile broadband solutions are "the preferred choice for operators around the world".

The stats show that the growth in mobile broadband products including data cards, dongles and embedded modems has exceeded the forecast of the industry in 2006 and 2007 for two consecutive years.

Over the next 3 years, industry analysts expect the mobile broadband market to grow at around 46%, with annual shipments reaching 100 million by 2011.

Huawei has also revealed a partnership with the GSMA, to try and promote different applications for 3G, with connected consumer and industrial goods.
