Pocket-lint has spotted a large billboard displaying the rumoured Huawei Ascend D2 that has been on our radar in recent weeks, confirming it will be shown-off in-depth at this week's CES event.

Arriving early at CES is definitely worth it, as we've already had a glimpse of the Sony Xperia Z and new Samsung Smart TV interface two days before the world's largest tech trade show begins.

Huawei will be holding its press event at 1pm PST (9pm UK time) today, 7 January - for all the handset's official details. We will be in attendance.

The Ascend D2, running Android, is rumoured to feature a 5-inch 1080p display, 1.5GHz quad-core processor, and 13-megapixel camera. Huawei is also expected to introduce the Ascend W1, a low-end Windows Phone 8 handset featuring a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 4GB storage, 512MB RAM and a 5-megapixel camera.

Pocket-lint is in Las Vegas in full-force to cover the latest news coming out of CES. You can keep up with all the coverage on our dedicated CES 2013 page.
