DigiTimes is reporting that HTC plans to "revamp" its ultra-mobile PC strategy following the success of Asus' Eee PC range.

As we know, the popularity of the Eee has made many manufacturers launch rival products and it seems HTC may look to go down the budget route too.

DigiTimes says that Peter Chou, president and CEO of HTC, said this success may "force HTC to adjust its deployment of UMPC products".

"The focus of HTC's development will continue to strengthen users' internet experience through mobile devices", Chou is quoted as saying.

Market sources in Taiwan have indicated that HTC is busy developing new MID (Mobile Internet Device) products, using Intel's Atom and Qualcomm's Snapdragon chipset platforms that are due on the market in the second half of this year.
