After Google's big Android mobile operating system announcement that gave us no firm details on hardware, the blogosphere has been quick to fill the information void with rumours.

Forbes revealed the news of Google's "Dream" phone - said to be a prototype handset on which the web company demo-ed their platform on to potential partners, and some think it bears some resemblance to an already rumoured HTC model.

So, building speculation on speculation (with more than just a grain of plausibility) is the possibility that the Dream phone could in fact be the leaked HTC Omni that we brought you news of before.

The pieces fall into place with both units sharing a similar form factor, being 3 by 5-inches in size, having a rectangular touchscreen, and a full QWERTY keyboard that swivels out.

We certainly hope so - as the Omni looked rather nice...
