Those of you who own a HTC One M8 smartphone can now upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop, as long as it is a developer or unlocked edition.
HTC has confirmed you can check for an over-the-air system update starting tonight. Software version 4.16.1540.8 is expected to launch and weigh about 584 megabytes. It'll bring Lollipop along with a new interface style for the lock screen and notifications, support for multiple pages of recent apps, and a search function within settings, etc.
Earlier this morning, before HTC announced via Twitter that the update was ready, a video from Vietnam surfaced. It showed the HTC One M8 running Android 5.0.1 with Sense 6 on top. The person who uploaded the video, according to GSMArena, indicated his newly-updated phone ran fast and smooth and that the battery life appeared improved.
The leaked video was proof to many that HTC would soon announce Lollipop, especially because the company had previously promised the update would arrive by 2 February.
