HTC has begun to roll out Android 4.4.2 KitKat to the HTC One and HTC One Max in the UK, following the updates' release in the US

The firmware, available through the software update button on the HTC One and HTC One Max handsets, has been well-waited on by users. HTC pulled the update for the HTC One last month due to issues, but now it's back on track for Vodafone, O2, and Three customers. EE is coming soon.

Remember, it sometimes takes HTC awhile to have the update rolled out to everyone - blame the carriers. At any rate, you should see it soon. HTC says Android 4.4 KitKat for the HTC One mini is in the works, as well.

The HTC One Max's KitKat update looks to be in the early stages - rolling out to a few handsets across Europe. HTC hasn't updated its software updates website with information on the rollout, but it looks to have started.

Past minor updates to HTC's Sense software, the KitKat update adds bumps to speed and performance for the Android OS.
