HTC has leaked its mid-range Desire 8 handset on a Chinese website revealing a 5.5-inch screen and 13-megapixel camera.

MyDrivers, the Chinese tech site, has shown a photo of the Desire 8 and Engadget's sources have confirmed it's real.

The dual-SIM phone will come with a 5.5-inch display of unknown resolution - making it the largest non-flagship HTC handset yet. It will also have a 13-megapixel main camera and 5-megapixel front shooter. No UltraPixel, unfortunately.

The Desire 8 will be available in white, red, yellow, orange and cyan. It will come with HTC's front-facing speakers and apparently no buttons, much like the rumoured M8.

The photo apparently shows the date 18 March. With Oppo officially announcing its new flagship Find 7 handset on 19 March we're expecting HTC is also announcing the Desire 8, but the day before.
