Amazon has priced and dated the HTC Desire Z, officially launched by HTC on 15 September at a glitzy launch in London.

The new QWERTY keyboard touting smartphone, according to Amazon.co.uk will cost £429.99 without a contract and ship on 11 October if you've got the cash and the urge to buy it and ready to sign up to the pre-order page.

Those who need a little more persuasion will want to know that if you are ready to part with you children's inheritance, as Theo Paphitis from Dragon's Den would say, you'll get a 3.7-inch 800 x 480 Super LCD touchscreen, Android 2.2 and the new HTC Sense.

Sitting at the core is an 800MHz processor, with a 5-megapixel camera around the back with the potential to capture HD video.
