HTC Hero 2.1 update getting closer

We've got some good news, and some bad news. The good news is that if you happen to be a HTC Hero owner in the Far East, you're just about to be upgraded from Android 1.5 to 2.1.
The bad news is that while that means that a UK roll out of the update is hopefully that little bit closer to realisation for UK customers, the Hero 2.1 update is still not here, with HTC telling Pocket-lint no more than what they've said all along, which is expect it some time in June.
Still with the Asian roll out happening as we speak and Sprint busy rolling out its Hero 2.1 update in the US, it can only be a matter of days before HTC and the operators release the update in Blighty.
Of course those who really can't wait any longer could say "sod it" and upgrade to the HTC Legend instead.
And before you ask, it's an Over The Air roll out that is only being offered to customers so you won't be able to get it on Orange even if you wanted to, well for the time being anyway.
We, as ever, will keep you posted.
