You may have read earlier on Pocket-lint about Vodafone having to delay its Sony Ericsson Xperia Play launch due to "freight issues" but it seems that, despite suggestions otherwise, Orange won't be missing the 1 April launch date after all.

Pocket-lint has had confirmation from our man at Orange that it has no stock issues and it the network will be launching the PlayStation phone "launching across retail and online tomorrow" (1 April).

We've heard that the Vodafone shortages are down to the stock missing the boat to travel to UK.

O2 has also recently delayed the launch due to "software testing issues" so it looks like Orange could be your best best if you want to guarantee yourself the Play on day one.

Update: A spokesperson for Three has now contacted us to state that there is, in fact, a sort delay for the Xperia Play on their side, with sales now due to start "early next week".
