Orange has announced that it has grabbed the exclusive for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 in the UK. But wait a minute, the handset is already coming to Vodafone, so how is that possible?

No it's not a typo, and neither is it Orange not acknowledging that Vodafone exists, it's that you'll only be able to buy the white version from the operator that's currently merging with T-Mobile.

Those keen to go "white" rather than black, when the handset goes on sale in early April, will have to go to Orange rather than Vodafone for to get Sony Ericsson's first Android powered phone.

A quick recap will tell you that the handset comes with an integrated 8.1-megapixel, auto-focus camera, featuring camcorder capability, a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen, A-GPS and 1GB of internal memory with a 8GB MicroSD card powered by a 1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

For those keen to get the black model, Orange will be stocking those too.
