There's been whispering and murmerings of an Android smartphone from Dell for some time, and earlier in the year we brought you the first spy pictures of the device, but now the handset has finally been made official.

The Mini 3i, as it's called, is only available in China and doesn't run full Android - instead it runs the Android-based Open Mobile System. It has a 3.5-inch 360 x 640 display, and has a 3-megapixel camera and Bluetooth, but doesn't have Wi-Fi or 3G. It also looks less Pre-like than the original blurry photos did.

It looks like the handset won't be available in the West for the forseeable future, but the specs don't blow anything we've got out of the water, so it's unlikely that there'll be much consumer pressure on Dell. If we hear anything further about a Western release, then you'll be the first to know.
