Better late than never - the Dell Venue Pro has finally made its way to Blighty, going on sell directly from Dell.

Scheduled originally for a November 2010 release, the QWERTY packing Windows Phone 7 device is now available to order online for a hefty £459 (SIM free and unlocked).

Touted as a business phone by its makers, the Venue Pro was detailed in the original Windows Phone 7 line-up, so it's a bit cheeky of Dell to call it a "new" device in its official press gumph.

The Venue Pro fits around in the middle of the Samsung Omnia 7 and HTC HD7 with a 4.1-inch, 800x480 AMOLED capacitive multi-touch curved Gorilla Glass display.

Around the back on the rather fancy carbon fibre looking design you get a 5-megapixel camera complete with flash. Inside you get the usual WP7 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM.

"No matter your requirements, the Dell Venue Pro with Windows Phone 7 brings a fresh approach of doing more with less," said Aongus Hegarty, Dell vice president for Consumer, Small and Medium Business in EMEA.

"We're committed to creating smart, innovative mobile experiences to help people discover new ways to work, enjoy the web, connect with friends, and navigate their lives. The Venue Pro truly mixes business with pleasure and is the perfect phone for those who appreciate the work/life balance."

If you fancy mixing business with pleasure (and we don't mean a one night stand with the office bike) then you can order a Dell Venue Pro directly from Dell now.
