Vodafone Spain and RIM have introduced the new BlackBerry Pearl 8110 smartphone, the first BlackBerry Pearl model to feature built-in GPS.

The BlackBerry Pearl 8110 will be available for Vodafone business and individual customers in Spain, with no news yet of a launch elsewhere.

Described as one of the smallest and lightest smartphones on the market, the new Pearl is available in "elegant" black.

The GPS side of things is taken care of via Vodafone GPS Navigator, based on the Telmap Navigator solution and will be free to consumers for one year on certain price packages.

Angled as "the perfect tool" for professionals to manage calls, send emails, surf the net, take and send photos, listen to music, record and watch videos, and access their organiser, calendar and a range of business and lifestyle applications, the 8110 is as fully-featured as you'd expect from a BlackBerry - although with no Wi-Fi.

Boasting RIM's trackball navigation and SureType keyboard system, the 8110 offers a 2-megapixel camera with zoom, flash and video capablities.

Other features include the BlackBerry Desktop Software with media offerings, A2DP Bluetooth, and microSD card slot.

The BlackBerry Pearl 8110 is available now from 89 euros on certain Vodafone Spain price plans.
