The hugely expensive Porsche Design BlackBerry P'9981 Black is to go on sale on 2 January exclusively at Harrods Technology, priced at £1,390.

The phone is identical to the original titanium version that we reviewed back in February of this year. The difference being the "black" part of the name, which signifies the stainless steel case wrapped in black plastic.

The phone runs on BlackBerry OS 7.1 and features a 1.2 GHz processor, 8GB of internal storage and a 16GB microSD card in the box to use with its expandable up to 32GB slot. You also get a premium BlackBerry messenger PIN.

"Our very first product was a completely black watch. It was a revolutionary product at the time and proved to be a great talking point all over the world," explains Jürgen Gessler, CEO of the Porsche Design Group. "As is typical of Porsche Design, the choice of black had a functional significance."

For those after one of the black P'9981s, head down to Harrods with plenty of cash in your pocket on 2 January and you shouldn't be disappointed.
