Asus announced at CES 2014 that it will be bringing the PadFone X to the US in partnership with AT&T. There's no word on when the PadFone X will be available or its price, but AT&T has confirmed it will be the exclusive partner for the device.

The PadFone X is a 5-inch, 1080p successor to the PadFone Infinity. Like the rest of the PadFone line, one of its main features is its ability to dock into a 9-inch tablet while using one data plan. Users can go from a small screen to a larger screen for watching movies or tasks like browsing the web.

Asus and AT&T are still remaining quiet about specifications within the device. However, they have revealed it will run apps instantaneously to fit the larger PadFone station display and that its battery life will be doubled when docked.

The PadFone X supports LTE-Advanced technology, bringing faster data speeds than regular LTE. It also boasts new Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and HD Voice standards. We'll be on the look out for when AT&T announces a launch date.
