For those excited by Apple's iPhone 6 and iWatch release the scam email going round at the moment might be too much to resist. Be warned.

The email, complete with convincing Apple imagery and logos, ultimately takes people off to a bogus website says Mac World. Whether this is virus filled ready for visitors isn't clear – we're not testing it out.

Things to look out for include the email address and the subject line "The wait is over. Proudly introducing the new iPhone 6."

The wait is not even nearly over with an expected announcement in September. Parts are starting to leak but the final mass production has reportedly not even begun yet.

While the email is filled with the usual rumour mill specs like a sapphire glass screen, thinner build, faster processor and the like, it's dud.

Unfortunately we're all just going to have to wait like we do every year.
