Apple will introduce multi-tasking to its iPhone range in the latest OS update due in the summer according to reports online.

Appleinsider is claiming it has the inside track, on what most believe is a given; that the Apple iPhone, iPod and iPad will get multi-tasking support.

"People with a proven track record in predicting Apple's technological advances tell AppleInsider that the Cupertino-based company has developed a "full-on solution" to multitasking on the iPhone OS but offered no specifics on how the technology would optimize resource conservation and battery life -- two of the most critical issues surrounding the matter, alongside security".

Apple has always been criticised for the lack of multi-tasking on their devices with the iPhone and iPod only capable of running third party applications one at a time.

Currently the only way to run multiple third party apps at the same time is to jailbreak your handset - something that Apple strongly disapproves of; saying it voids the warranty.
