Acer has given its Liquid E handset a Ferrari makeover, creating a stylish mobile that motor racing enthusiasts will love.

The Liquid E is an Android 2.1 handset with a 3.5-inch touchscreen and a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip inside. It also has a 5-megapixel camera on board with autofocus and geotagging features.

This Ferrari special edition has a glossy red finish and a chrome trim, so it looks as much like a Ferrari car as it is possible for a mobile phone handset to do so. The Ferrari badge is situated on the back of the device with the details constructed with carbon fibre.

The interface has also received a Ferrari revamp. The five screen homepage is awash with Ferrari images and media.

“A Ferrari is not just about speed", says Gianpiero Morbello, Acer marketing and brand VP. "It is an expression of beauty, power, excitement, pleasure and natural excellence. From the original concept to the finished product the new smartphone was conceived down to the finest details with the idea of giving a stronger sense of belonging to all Ferrari fans".

If you're going to go for the special edition Ferrari Liquid E, you may as well team it up with the Ferrari themed Bluetooth headset and also the Ferrari case, which will protect it from bumps and scrapes. It will also stop jealous rotters from keying your new Ferrari.

There's no details regarding availability as yet, but we'll keep you posted.
