The T-Mobile Sidekick has been doing cool for around 3 years now. It's funky interface powered by Danger, celebrity status with the likes of Paris Hilton, and instant messenger, email and web browsing functionality mean it's no slouch in bed.

This year's variant, the T-Mobile Sidekick Slide is smaller, faster and all the usual things you would expect from an upgrade.

Available only on T-Mobile, the device comes with an unlimited dataplan like the iPhone, but has a large QWERTY keyboard for easy and quick typing.

Tech specs wise, the model will offer quad-band connectivity, a 1.3-megapixel camera, a microSD card slot for external storage up to 4GB, Bluetooth and support for instant messaging applications.

Retro in its design it won't be to everyone's taste. In our Pocket-lint review we summed up the phone by saying:

"The T-Mobile Sidekick Slide looks to be a good messaging phone for the "kids". The robust redesign, QWERTY keyboard, large screen and instant messaging features will certainly appeal."

"However with only a 1.3 megapixel camera, quad-band connectivity and large design its going to struggle to compete against other offers out there from Apple, RIM, HTC, Sony Ericsson and more."

The T-Mobile Sidekick Slide handset also comes with a music player that supports MP3, AAC and WMA files.

The new T-Mobile Sidekick Slide will be available from November to purchase from T-Mobile stores and online at The device is from free when purchased on the Flext 30 plus Web'n'walk tariff.
