Mobile porn set to explode by 2011
Analysis by Juniper Research suggest that porn on mobile phones may be the thing that makes mobile content take off.
Already worth $1.4 billion this year, mobile porn will be worth nearly three times that much by 2011, or $3.3 billion.
Europe leads the pack for porn, spending the most money as much because of the high cost of downloading content as a demand to watch it. Asia comes in second.
The research also shows that as mobile technology evolves, so will the delivery of porn. At the moment most is transmitted via text messages, but as 3G grow, so will delivery of video porn.
Another gem of a factoid gained from the research is that most people who watch mobile porn are "lads down the pub" wanting to impress their friends, rather than hard core porn watchers.
