As promised we've managed to get more of the low down on BenQ's new P51 Smartphone. The Phone launched today features an integrated SiRF Star III GPS module and WLAN and runs Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system.
The model, which by the look of it, has its sights on taking over the Treo market features a touch screen QVGA TFT colour display (2.83 inches, 240 x 320 pixels), comes with Bluetooth and USB connections as well as the aforementioned WLAN interface (WLAN 820.11b/g).
The phone also includes a miniature QWERTY keyboard and GPS mapping software, although the company hasn't said what mapping software.
The BenQ-Siemens P51 is also equipped with a music player (MP3, AAC, AAC+) with equalizer and 3D surround sound, as well as featuring an integrated 1.3 megapixel camera with LED flash will take spontaneous snapshots.
The P51 will be available in Q3 in “Silver”. Prices, networks and stockists are still to be confirmed.
