Palm has launched two new PDA devices today - an entry level unit called the Z22 and a more advanced model called the Palm TX. Both models look to fill the middle ground with a focus on price rather than features.

The White coloured Palm Z22 organizer has been built for the mass market. In the US it will retail for $99, weigh just over 85g and about the same size as a deck of playing cards. Featuring a 160x160 colour screen the system spec has been kept to a basic with a 200Mhz processor and 32Mb of memory with 20Mb available for users.

The basic model will come with standard software like Calendar, Contacts, Memos, Tasks, Note Pad, Expense, Calculator, World Clock and Photos.
The Palm TX however is a little more advanced and offers a larger 320x480 display, integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Costing $299 in the US, the Palm TX handheld also features a 312MHz processor, 128Mb of memory with approximately 100MB user available of non-volatile flash memory protects users' documents and information, even if the device is not charged and the power runs down and an expansion card slot for MultiMediaCard, SD and SDIO formats.

DataViz's Documents To Go to allow users to view, edit and create Word and Excel compatible files, and view and edit PowerPoint file.

It will be available in the UK for £249.99
