Several people across social media are noting Android 4.3 has begun rolling out to the global version of the Galaxy S4 on Thursday. The update has reached the Snapdragon 600 processor version, not Samsung’s octa-core version, and hasn't reached all countries as of yet. Predominantly it's users in Germany who have seen the update thus far, but more countries should certainly follow.
We haven't had the chance to play with the Android 4.3 on our Galaxy S4 yet, but SamMobile says the new build brings a faster and smoother experience than the previous build. Among new features include support for the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, Open GL 3.0, Samsung Knox, TRIM support, improved RAM management, improved display colour reproduction, a better launcher with less issues, a new keyboard, a new Samsung browser, Samsung Wallet pre installed, a new Reading Mode, new Camera firmware, and minor UI tweaks.
Like all software updates, Android 4.3 can be downloaded to the Galaxy S4 over-the-air. You can check for the update from your handset manually by going to Settings > More > About device > Software update. We'll be keeping a close eye on more countries gaining the update as it is rolled out by Samsung.
