The Lego Group is at the 2014 NYC Toy Fair, where it just gave a sneak peek of the Sea Cow ship from its new Lego Movie.

Called MetalBeard's Sea Cow, the massive Lego set will release in March for $249.99. It includes captain's quarters, which has a treasure chest with gold coins and jewels, blueprints, maps, a portrait of Metal Beard, and more, as well as a boiler room, ammunition deck and crow's nest. You'll also see a chimney, two anchors, four back propellers, two side turbines, lanterns, two gold keys... No detail was left out, obviously.

You can do things like take off the funnel to access the cannon and ammunition deck, open the top to access the captain’s cabin, and open the doors to the boiler room to get at things like weapons. You can also turn the exhaust to raise and lower the anchors, rotate the side turbines, and place a mini figure on the fore mast. The functionality of this thing is limitless. It's not just for looks: Lego wants you to have at it.

Speaking of mini figures, the Sea Cow includes Emmet (Chris Pratt), Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks), Vitruvius (Morgan Freeman), and Benny (Charlie Day). There also two brick-build characters: Metal Beard(Nick Offerman) and Unikitty (Alison Brie). With all of these characters and pieces packaged with the set, you'll be able to recreate scenes from the action movie.

We were pretty impressed with the Sea Cow, and even more amazed by the price. But if you're a Lego collector and a fan of the new movie, we doubt the expense will deter you. MetalBeard's Sea Cow is both mammoth and glorious. Anybody would be happy to play with this set for hours  on end.
