Corgi has relaunched the Goldfinger Aston Martin DB5 50 years after it first went on sale in the UK.

The new re-release will be an exact carbon copy of the original model and come with the same ejector seat, rear bullet shield and rotating license plate.

In an attempt to tease and excite collectors there will be only 12,000 made this time around and taking things a step further only 2,000 will come in the original Goldfinger gold, the colour of the original model in 1965.

Although the DB5 in the Goldfinger was never gold, Corgi at the time was worried that a silver car would look unfinished and so launched a gold version to play on the name of the film.

50 years later and the company is clearly a lot braver.

Those that do buy the new model car for £19.99 will get it in a lovely numbered presentation box complete with a collectors card. The Corgi Aston Martin DB5 will be in shops shortly.

Meanwhile fans of the DB5 will also be able to save up for a limited edition Scalextric model to race around on the company's slot tracks. - learn about it / talk about it / deal with it At parents can find all the advice they will need to keep their children safe online.
